- Day 1 - Friday, Dec. 6 - Galveston - This morning we depart from Zachary, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs and Hammond as we make our way to Galveston. This evening’s holiday festival activities include a Hand Bell Concert performed at St. Joseph’s Church, the oldest wooden church in Galveston, built in 1859 as the first German Catholic Church in Texas. Afterwards, we will enjoy an included dinner at the iconic Fisherman's Wharf where we'll enjoy waterfront seafood at its best overlooking the harbor. Overnight in Galveston.
Day 2, Saturday, Dec. 7 - Galveston – After breakfast, we will visit the London Wharf and the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA which is a National Historic Landmark. London Wharf represents a time when the sun never set on the British Empire, with jaunty tunes of a concertina as “old salts” share tall tales of life at sea. Enjoy the demonstrations of traditional maritime skills and purchase unique nautical crafts made by volunteer crew members of the 1877 tall ship ELISSA.
Then on to the Dickens on the Strand Festival in time for all of the entertainment which includes magicians, musicians, hypnotists, acrobats and performers of all types. Shop from a vast array of costumed vendors peddling their wares from street stalls and rolling carts laden with culinary delights and Victorian inspired crafts of clothing, jewelry, holiday decorations and gift items just in time for the holidays! Enjoy The Queen’s Parade with Her Majesty Queen Victoria as she is escorted by a colorful guard of Beefeaters in her own royal parade in an elegant horse drawn carriage.
This evening we depart for Moody Gardens, where we will delight in a Holiday Buffet and then the Festival of Lights, a walking tour of thousands of lights in the lovely gardens. Overnight in Galveston.
Day 3, Sunday, December 8- Home - After breakfast, it’s time to board our “Victorian horse-power carriage” (motor coach) for a leisurely drive home remembering and sharing the good times we had!
