- Day 1 - Sunday, December 1 - Ooltewah TN – Motor coach from Zachary, Baton Rouge through Denham Springs, Hammond, and Birmingham overnight in Ooltewah, TN.
EXPERIENCE THE BILTMORE ESTATE - The world-famous Biltmore House and Gardens was built by George Vanderbilt, youngest grandson of business tycoon Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, in 1895. He envisioned an estate that would not only showcase his collection of art, but also be a self-supporting business. With just 4 acres of floor space it contains 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces, 43 bathrooms and 3 kitchens. Vanderbilt included such technology as an elevator, and a swimming pool with underwater lighting, and over 100 decorated Christmas trees for the holiday season.
Day 2 - Monday, December 2 - Asheville, NC – Morning drive through the beautiful Smokies. Check into our hotel located on the grounds of Biltmore. Lighted tour of the spectacular Biltmore Estates, with its 250-room mansion and 75 acres of formal gardens - America’s most imposing house. Enjoy included admission to see the current Chihuly exhibit, featuring pedestal works such as "Drawings" and large-scale installations of "Chandeliers," "Towers," "Mille Fiori," and "Neon." Dinner is included. (D)
Day 3 - Tuesday, December 3 - The Greenbrier - Travel through beautiful eastern Tennessee and the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for mid-afternoon arrival at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for a three-night stay in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains. (B)
ENJOY THE GREENBRIER - This historic 200-year-old property has more than 700 guestrooms and is known as America’s resort with three championship golf courses. The elegant Greenbrier Hotel is a National Historic Landmark. Built at the dawn of tourism in the U.S., this great resort hotel has hosted presidents, royals and a burgeoning middle class.
Day 4 - Wednesday, December 4 -The Greenbrier – After an included breakfast at the Greenbrier you can attend a historic history lecture about the hotel and tour the Cold War Bunker. This afternoon, enjoy an included afternoon tea and an included dinner in the main dining hall. (B, T, D)
Day 5 - Thursday, December 5 - The Greenbrier – Free day to enjoy activities of your choice at the Greenbrier Resort. This evening enjoy an included dinner. (B, D)
Day 6 - Friday, December 6 - Chattanooga, Tennessee – After our included hotel breakfast, we will check out and begin making our way home. We will enjoy shopping in Tamarack, the arts and crafts center of West Virginia. Overnight in the Chattanooga area. (B)
Day 7 - Saturday, December 7 - Home – Full day drive home, arriving in Baton Rouge this evening. (B)
