Day 1 - Saturday, July 1 - Ft. Smith, Arkansas – Motor coach from Zachary and Baton Rouge with pick-ups along the way. Overnight in Ft. Smith, AR.
Day 2 - Sunday, July 2 - Sioux City, Iowa – Today we stop in Omaha, Nebraska and pay a visit to its baseball park, TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, home of the Creighton Bluejays baseball team. Overnight in Sioux City. Day 3 - Monday, July 3 - Rapid City, South Dakota - Today we visit Badlands National Park and the famous Wall Drug Store. Overnight in Rapid City. Day 4- Tuesday, July 4 - Sheridan, Wyoming – Morning in the beautiful “Black Hills” of South Dakota, the highest mountains east of the Rocky Mountains.We visit Mt. Rushmore which depicts four great American presidents – Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Visit Devils Tower. Overnight in Sheridan. Day 5 - Wednesday, July 5 - Yellowstone area – Jackson, WY - Through beautiful Bighorn Mountains to Cody, Wyoming, then on to Yellowstone. See Yellowstone Lake, the largest lake in America above 7,000 feet. See wild animals, picturesque scenery, and bubbling, colorful mud pots. Enjoy spectacular views of some of the grandest mountains in the world, the Grand Teton Mountain Range, with its saw-toothed 13,500 foot high ridges crested with snow. Overnight Jackson, Wyoming. Day 6 - Thursday, July 6 - Yellowstone area- West Yellowstone, MT – See many geysers, the best known being Old Faithful, erupting approximately every 60-90 minutes. View spectacular “Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone” and visit the 310-foot Lower Falls, twice the height of Niagara Falls. Overnight in West Yellowstone. Day 7 - Friday, July 7 - Billings, MT – Morning viewing of more wonders of Yellowstone. Afternoon departure via spectacular Beartooth Pass, one of the most scenic routes in the world. Overnight in Billings. Day 8 - Saturday, July 8 - Medora, ND – Morning visit to site of Custer’s Last Stand, Little Bighorn Battlefield. Through Montana to Medora. Tonight enjoy an included dinner followed by the Medora Musical in the Burning Hills Amphitheater. Day 9 - Sunday, July 9 - Fargo, ND – Morning visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and North Dakota Badlands. Visit Fort Lincoln to see the last home of General George Custer and Mandan Indian Village. Overnight in Fargo. Day 10 - Monday, July 10 - Minneapolis, MN - Visit headwaters of the Mississippi River – perhaps wade across it. Afternoon visit to Mall of America. Much to do and see, even if you don’t shop. Day 11 - Tuesday, July 11 - Des Moines, Iowa – Visit the National Eagle Center and lunch at the Nelson Cheese Factory. Afternoon drive through a beautiful part of Wisconsin and into Iowa. Day 12 - Wednesday, July 12 - Branson, MO – Through Iowa and Kansas City, Missouri. Dinner and show in Branson. Day 13 - Thursday, July 13 - Home – Journey through beautiful Arkansas to Shreveport and then on home. |
