Day 1 - Saturday, July 1 - Ft. Smith, Arkansas – Motor coach from Zachary and Baton Rouge with pick-ups along the way. Overnight in Ft. Smith, AR.
Day 2 - Sunday, July 2 - Sioux City, Iowa – Today we stop in Omaha, Nebraska and pay a visit to its baseball park, TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, home of the Baseball College World Series. Overnight in Sioux City. Day 3 - Monday, July 3 - Rapid City, South Dakota - Today we visit Badlands National Park and the famous Wall Drug Store. Overnight in Rapid City. Day 4- Tuesday, July 4 - Sheridan, Wyoming – Morning in the beautiful “Black Hills” of South Dakota, the highest mountains east of the Rocky Mountains. We visit Mt. Rushmore which depicts four great American presidents – Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Visit Devils Tower. Overnight in Sheridan. Day 5 - Wednesday, July 5 - Yellowstone area – West Yellowstone - Through beautiful Bighorn Mountains to Cody, Wyoming, then on to Yellowstone. See Yellowstone Lake, the largest lake in America above 7,000 feet. See wild animals, picturesque scenery, and bubbling, colorful mud pots. Overnight in West Yellowstone. Day 6, Thursday, July 6 – Grand Tetons – Morning visit to Old Faithful and more. Afternoon visit to Grand Teton National Park. Enjoy spectacular views of some of the grandest mountains in the world. the Grand Teton Mountain Range, with its saw-toothed 13,5000 foot high ridges crested with snow. Overnight in Jackson, Wyoming. Day 7, Friday, July 7 – Steamboat Springs, CO – We journey south through Rock Springs, WY and then into Colorado. Overnight in the ski center of Steamboat Springs. Day 8, Saturday, July 8 – Colorado Springs, CO – Morning crossing of Rabbit Ears Pass and then follow the splendid Trail Ridge Road of Rocky Mountain National Park, over the tops of mighty mountain ranges. Enjoy magnificent views of canyons, rivers and valleys thousands of feet below. After crossing the Continental Divide we descend to Estes Park for a brief visit. Through Denver to Colorado Springs overnight. Day 9, Sunday, July 9 – Wichita Falls, TX – We drive south over Raton Pass and into the Northeast corner of New Mexico. Then into Texas, through Amarillo and on to Wichita Falls, Texas for overnight. Day 10, Monday, July 10 – Home – We journey home with many wonderful memories of a truly spectacular tour. |
