- Day 1 - Sunday, April 4- Chattanooga, TN– Early morning departures from Zachary, Baton Rouge. Journey through Hattiesburg, Laurel and Meridian, MS. Overnight in the Chattanooga area.
Day 2 - Monday, April 5 - Washington, D.C area - Drive across Tennessee and Virginia to Washington, our home for the next four nights. Enjoy a twilight tour of the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean and Vietnam Memorials.
Day 3-5, April 6-8: In no particular order, sightseeing will include: National Cathedral, Jefferson Memorial, the Roosevelt Memorial and the World War II Memorial, an inside visit to the Capitol Building, a visit to Arlington Cemetery, a visit to Mt. Vernon, a drive past Georgetown, a drive by the White House, and a visit to the Smithsonian Museums where you can view the museums of your choice. (B)
Day 6 -Friday , April 9- Williamsburg – Today we visit Williamsburg, the former capital of Virginia. This historic area has stately public buildings and colonial homes, shops, taverns and gardens. Lunch at Shields Tavern. Overnight in the Charlottesville area. (B,L)
Day 7 -Saturday, April 10 - Bristol area – Visit Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. Lunch included at Michie Tavern. Then through Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley and on to Tennessee for overnight. (B,L)
Day 8 - Sunday , April 11- Tuscaloosa- We'll make our way home. Farewell dinner and overnight in Tuscaloosa. (B, D)
Day 9 - Monday, April 12- Home - Drive home, arriving in Zachary this evening. (B)
