Day 1 - Albuquerque, NM – We fly from Baton Rouge to beautiful Albuquerque, known as “the Land of Enchantment.” After we settle in at our hotel, we head to the Balloon Fiesta and the Chaser’s Club where we’ll enjoy a delicious included dinner before we enjoy an evening of Fiesta Glow - as all the balloons fire their burners at the same time and lights up the night sky, one of the most incredible moments of the Balloon Fiesta. Afterwards, we’ll see one of New Mexico’s most spectacular fireworks displays before heading back to our hotel to rest.
Day 2 - Indian Pueblo Cultural Center-Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway – This morning we experience a fascinating introduction to the way of life enjoyed by America’s first “apartment dwellers,” the Pueblo tribes of the Southwest with stops at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and the Turquoise Museum. After learning about turquoise and viewing the roman gothic decor, we’ll indulge in some Mexican cuisine with an included lunch with the group. Next, rise above it all on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway to the mountain’s 10,378-foot summit, with thrilling panoramic views. Day 3 - Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Mass Ascension – Today we will learn why Albuquerque is called the Balloon Capital of the World. We depart for an early morning departure to Fiesta Field to witness the incredible Dawn Patrol, a tradition that began at Balloon Fiesta in 1978. Just at dawn when the winds are calmest, watch the mass ascension of hot-air balloons in a rainbow of colors and a variety of shapes. Enjoy breakfast afterwards and a mid-morning driving tour of Albuquerque, “The Jewel of the American Southwest.” We’ll visit Old Town, with charming adobe buildings and churches. Enjoy some shopping and lunch on your own before we head back to rest and then later, regroup for a delicious included farewell dinner. Day 4 - This morning we say goodbye to the Land of Enchantment and fly home after an amazing time at the Balloon Fiesta. |
