Day 1 - Monday, Oct. 17 - Mena, Arkansas – Motorcoach from Zachary, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria, Shreveport and Texarkana to Mena, Arkansas where we check into the historic Queen Wilhelmina Lodge, known as the “Castle in the Clouds.” Included dinner and breakfast.
The QUEEN WILHELMINA LODGE graces a site rich in history where generations have made memories. Experience the breathtaking scenery of the Ouachita Mountains, Arkansas’s southernmost mountain range, and enjoy delicious Southern fare in the restaurant where windows frame the panoramic scenery. Day 2 - Tuesday, Oct. 18 -Bentonville - Eureka Springs – Today we motorcoach to Bentonville where we visit the Crystal Bridges Museum, a renowned American Art collection ranging from Rockwell to Warhol. We’ll also visit the Walmart Museum which features Walton’s 5&10. Then we head to Eureka Springs, where we enjoy dinner at the B and a performance of the Passion Play. Overnight at the historic Basin Park Hotel. The BASIN PARK HOTEL, built in 1905 out of locally quarried limestone, sits against the side of a steep mountain in the heart of Eureka Springs. Each of its seven stories includes an exit to a “ground level” via a short footbridge to the mountain’s side, making it a building where every floor serves as a ground floor. The hotel’s top floor, with windows on three sides, accommodates a ballroom and is an observation point for the beautiful mountainous scenery beyond. Day 3 - Wednesday, Oct. 19 - Magazine Mountain – Today we enjoy a scenic drive to Magazine Mountain, Arkansas’s highest point at 2,753 feet and shopping along the way. Overnight at Magazine Mountain Lodge. The MAGAZINE MOUNTAIN LODGE - Overlooking the Petit Jean River Valley and Blue Mountain Lake, this resort mountain lodge offers breathtaking views of the valley below and combines a majestic natural setting with first-class amenities. Day 4 - Thursday, Oct. 20 - Home - Home today, arriving this evening. |
